Description

Your adventure begins at 7 am when we will meet you at your hotel and embark on a jeep ride towards the stunning Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta. Prepare yourself for a day filled with discovery!

We will drive to the San Martín trail, where our hiking adventure to the Gotsezhy Refuge will commence. Before hitting the trail, we will enjoy a light snack in the cozy rural community of San Martín, soaking in the vibrant atmosphere as we gear up for our hike. Throughout our journey, take in the region's sublime natural beauty.

Following approximately an hour of travel, we will arrive at the Gotsezhy village around 10 am. This is where we delve into the traditions and lifestyle of the Wiwa Indigenous community, focusing on their eco-friendly practices and unique textile-weaving techniques.

Afterward, we will proceed to a significant spiritual site revered by the community. At noon, we will have the honor of meeting the Mamo, the esteemed leader of the village.

As the clock strikes 12:30 pm, it's time for a hearty lunch, lovingly prepared by the Wiwa people, featuring a warm soup, a main dish, refreshing juice, and seasonal fruit. Once we have savored these local flavors, we will take a 20-minute stroll to reach the serene El Encanto natural pool, where you can enjoy a revitalizing swim known for its rejuvenating properties.

After a fulfilling day at the Gotsezhy Indigenous Refuge, we will gather back at our vehicle by 3 pm to commence our return journey to Santa Marta.

2-Day Trip

For those seeking an extended adventure, consider our 2-day journey to the Gotsezhy Indigenous Refuge. The first day includes all of the activities outlined above, but with an additional 2 hours of leisure at the El Encanto natural pool.

At 5 pm, we will reconvene at the refuge for a delightful dinner, complemented by the enchanting performances of traditional dancers as we eat.

Upon dawn of the second day, you can relish a snack and engage with the community, where an exhibition of traditional crafts will be on display. We will enjoy a local lunch around 12 noon before setting off at 2 pm along the trail back to Guachaca, where our transport will be ready to return you to Santa Marta.

You should expect to arrive back at your hotel by 5 pm. We look forward to welcoming you again!
