Our itinerary starts at the impressive 25 de Mayo Square, home to the magnificent facade of the Basilica-Cathedral of San Nicolás de Bari. This revered saint has a deep-rooted significance for the locals, particularly since the devastating earthquake in 1894 that impacted La Rioja and surrounding areas. This natural disaster led to the reconstruction of the original Matriz church, ultimately giving rise to the present temple in the early 20th century.

As we continue our exploration, we'll arrive at the grand City Hall, nestled among other architecturally significant buildings that embellish the city.
