Tárcoles River Crocodile Safari
Gathering at the designated meeting spot near the Tárcoles River, we will embark on an exciting expedition to observe crocodiles in their natural environment. This section of the river is renowned for hosting one of the largest populations of these fascinating semiaquatic creatures.
After introductions, we will board a vessel that will guide us downstream, signaling the start of our safari experience. Prepare to encounter American crocodiles that can grow up to 16 feet (5 metres) in length!
Our journey will take us deep into the jungle, providing a unique opportunity to learn how crocodiles and various other wildlife thrive along the Tárcoles River. This region is home to an array of bird species and showcases a remarkable mangrove ecosystem.
As we navigate through the Guacalillo Estuary, keep an eye out for four distinct types of trees. Additionally, our safari will bring us face to face with over 50 bird species, iguanas, and Jesus Christ lizards—a name that piques curiosity!
Your adventure culminates with a return to the meeting place, approximately two hours after the initial pickup.
