4-Day Lake Nasser Cruise
Description
Embark on a captivating 4-day cruise along Lake Nasser, designed to immerse you in the remarkable legacy of Ancient Egypt. Discover magnificent landmarks such as Abu Simbel and Kalabsha as you sail through this historic region.
Tour Highlights: Lake Nasser Cruise
Day 1: Aswan - Abu Simbel
Your journey begins with a timely pickup from your Aswan hotel, leading you to the scenic Abu Simbel site. After arriving, you will board a comfortable cruise vessel conveniently positioned at the dock and enjoy a delectable lunch on board.
The adventure continues with a guided exploration of the Abu Simbel and Nefertari temples. Uncover the monumental contributions of Pharaoh Ramses II, and after learning about this historical site, you'll have free time until regrouping for dinner on the cruise.
Day 2: Lake Nasser
Begin your day with a hearty breakfast as the ship sets sail towards the ancient fortress of Qasr Ibrim. Here, delve into the captivating past of this strategic stronghold and visit the adjacent Temple of Amada, known as the oldest temple in Nubia. The expedition continues with stops at the Temple of Derr and the tomb of Penut, a mausoleum revealing mysteries surrounding a prosperous governor of Ramses IV. After these insightful visits, return to the ship for lunch while continuing the cruise on Lake Nasser.
Day 3: Lake Nasser
On the third day, we anchor near the intriguing ruins of Wadi el Sebowa. This Nubian locale allows you to dive into the fascinating history of Ancient Egypt, exploring the temples of Dakka and Mahrakka. Here, you’ll encounter significant remnants linked to Thoth, the deity of writing, wisdom, music, and magic. Conclude this memorable day with an onboard dining experience as we sail towards Aswan.
Day 4: Lake Nasser - Aswan
The final day greets you with a breathtaking sunrise over southern Egypt while enjoying breakfast on deck, alongside views of the Aswan Dam. Following your meal, disembark on the Kalabsha island temples, where you'll explore the intricate Temple of Kertasi, dedicated to the enigmatic goddess Isis. After this engaging guided tour, we will return you back to your hotel in Aswan.
Once you reach the city, consider lunch at one of the diverse restaurants featuring traditional North African dishes. Alternatively, if you have a flight departing shortly, we can assist you to the Aswan airport for a smooth check-in.
