Embark on an enchanting boat journey through one of the most stunning areas in the province of Cáceres, gliding along the bend of the Melero River. This is an experience you'll cherish.

We'll convene at the scheduled time at the Centro Internacional de Innovación Deportiva-El Anillo, situated merely 8 kilometers from downtown Guijo de Granadilla. Awaiting us here is the boat that will carry us on a serene adventure down the Alagón River.

Our journey commences as we navigate northward through the waters of the Gabriel y Galán reservoir. During our passage over the Alagón River, keep an eye out for various bird species soaring in the sky. If fortune smiles upon us, we may encounter black storks, griffon vultures, and short-toed eagles, among others. Refreshments will also be available on board for your enjoyment.

As we drift along, we will glimpse the historic village of Granadilla with its notable castle, appreciate the picturesque valleys of Las Hurdes, and venture towards the Natural Park of Las Batuecas and Sierra de Francia, located in the province of Salamanca.

After sailing for one hour, we will approach the impressive meander of the Melero, where we can take in breathtaking views and immortalize the experience with photographs.

The boat trip will conclude after three and a half hours, bringing us back to our original meeting point.

Meandro del Melero

Please take note that access to the Meandro del Melero is currently restricted due to the low water levels in the reservoir. While we will approach the area, entering the meander itself will not be possible.
