Paddle Surfing on Lake Arenal

During this paddle surfing experience at Arenal Lagoon, you will be treated to stunning views of the enchanting cloud forests of Monteverde along with the majestic silhouette of Arenal Volcano as you navigate through the tranquil waters.

Tour Highlights

At the agreed time, our team will collect you from your accommodation and head towards Lake Arenal for an enjoyable paddle surf adventure. We'll begin by guiding you on how to maintain your balance on the board, and if you prefer, you can even paddle while seated!

Next, we'll glide across the lake, where a verdant mist-laden forest envelops us for approximately 4 kilometers (nearly 2.5 miles). A fascinating fact to consider: two villages were submerged when the dam was constructed.

As we navigate along the coastline, keep an eye out for hummingbirds and quetzals that may flutter nearby. You’ll also have the chance to gaze at the towering Arenal Volcano, which rises to 1,670 meters (over a mile high). In the background, you might catch a glimpse of the windmill fields of Tierras Morenas.

Finally, we will make our way back to the shore to return the paddle surf gear before taking you back to your hotel, with an expected drop-off time around 2 and a half hours after we picked you up.
