Description
Embark on an enriching excursion from Llandudno and delve into the storied past of Conwy, Dolbadarn, and Caernarfon, three of Wales' most impressive castles, taking you back to the Middle Ages!
Tour of Snowdonia & Welsh Castles
This Northern Wales adventure begins at the Llandudno Railway Station, from where, at the scheduled time, we will embark toward the striking Great Orme headland. Here, you’ll be treated to magnificent panoramas of Anglesey Island and the shimmering Irish Sea. Our first significant stop will be the grand Conwy Castle, where insights into King Edward I’s conquests in this region during the 13th century await.
After touring the various chambers of the castle, we will stroll through the charming historic center of Conwy and explore unique structures, such as the splendid Elizabethan residence known as Plas Mawr. Additionally, we will encounter the smallest house in Britain and learn about its interesting backstory!
The journey continues into the lush landscapes of Snowdonia National Park, a designated natural haven where the breathtaking views of the Nant Ffrancon valley will leave you in awe. We will also stop at Llyn Ogwen and Llyn Mymbyr lakes, offering a chance to admire the mountains and valleys mirroring in their tranquil waters.
Still immersed in the stunning scenery of Snowdonia, we will travel onward to Llanberis, granting you an hour of leisure for lunch. Following our meal, we’ll visit the National Slate Museum, highlighting the pivotal role of the slate industry in Wales' economic history.
Our afternoon in Llanberis will include an exploration of the ruins of Dolbadarn Castle, shedding light on its intriguing history. Finally, we will proceed to the day’s concluding site, Caernarfon Castle, where we will unravel its secrets.
As we wrap up this remarkable adventure, we’ll return to Llandudno, completing our journey in approximately nine hours.
