Topes de Collantes Exploration
Your day begins at 9 am with a pick-up from your hotel in Trinidad, setting the stage for our excursion to the enchanting Topes de Collantes Natural Park.
We’ll first visit El Mirador, located 1,640 feet (500 meters) above ground, where a breathtaking panorama of the Valle de los Ingenios, the city of Trinidad, and the Caribbean Sea unfolds before your eyes.
After soaking in this historical backdrop, we will continue our journey another 5 miles (8 km) into the heart of Topes de Collantes, recognized as one of Cuba's most expansive protected areas.
Next, we’ll stop at the local settlement of Topes de Collantes, gaining insight into the everyday lives of its residents. Here, we'll explore a coffee plantation known for growing three distinct varieties: arabica, robusta, and Liberian.
From there, we will proceed to Vegas Grande, where a moderate hiking trail awaits, allowing us to discover the local flora and fauna. At the hike's conclusion, a breathtaking waterfall invites you to take a refreshing dip.
We’ll then retrace our steps back to the starting point of the trail, where our vehicle will be ready to transport us to a local restaurant for a hearty lunch featuring traditional Cuban dishes.
After enjoying our meal, we'll make our way back to Trinidad, concluding the day and returning you to your hotel by approximately 3 pm.
