At your selected time, we will gather by the Dom Dinis Statue, where the journey to uncover the fascinating stories of this renowned educational institution, the University of Coimbra, will begin.

We will step into the central courtyard of this historic university, known for being among the oldest in Europe. Are you aware that it has earned the title of a World Heritage Site?

Within the university grounds, a visit to the Chapel of São Miguel awaits, particularly noted for its ornate tiles and impressive baroque organ. Additionally, we'll admire the exquisite Joanine Library, constructed on the orders of King John V of Portugal. Regarded as one of the most beautiful libraries in Europe, it boasts an extensive collection of literature from the 16th to 18th centuries.

Once we have explored the University of Coimbra, our route leads us to two of the city’s significant cathedrals, the Old and New Cathedrals. Our exploration will also take us to the escadas do Quebra Costas, which were built in medieval times to link the lower city with the castle. In this vicinity, we'll also encounter the Almedina Arch, which once formed part of the citadel’s defenses. Prepare for plenty of photo opportunities!
