Our meeting point is at the designated time outside the Santorino restaurant. Following a brief welcome and the chance to enjoy a coffee, we will set off along the promenade to embark on this complimentary exploration of Santa Bárbara de Samaná.

The adventure kicks off on the Malecón, where we will take in the sweeping views of the bay and the captivating scenes of the Samaná provincial capital. You'll witness local fishermen tending to their daily catch, children playing in the sun, and the enticing aromas wafting from seaside restaurants, all narrating the unique stories of the northern Dominican Republic.

As we continue, we will arrive at a spot where the ocean vistas become even more breathtaking while we delve into Samaná's rich African, European, and indigenous heritage. We'll explore the ongoing efforts to maintain cultural identity, along with the exciting cultural festivities and Afro-Caribbean and religious traditions. Additionally, a visit to nearby handicraft markets awaits, promising a great opportunity to pick up a memorable keepsake!

Our next stop is the evangelical church of Saint Peter, affectionately referred to by locals as La Chorcha. We will pause here to admire its pastel-colored wooden facade while learning about its history, which dates back to the time following the abolition of slavery.

As we stand before this structure, its exquisite Victorian-style architecture is sure to leave you in awe, deepening your appreciation for its cultural significance. This part of Samaná undoubtedly represents a pivotal moment in Dominican history.

After an enriching hour of discovery, we will conclude our journey at the Pueblo Príncipe square, right in front of the Santa Bahía Kitchen & Bar restaurant.
