What to Anticipate
On the day of your adventure, we'll meet you at Kinlay Hostel in downtown Galway. From there, our bus journey begins as we travel southward along the Wild Atlantic Way, passing through some of the most stunning landscapes Ireland has to offer. En route, we’ll visit charming villages such as Clarenbridge, Kilcogan, Ballindereen and Ballyvaughan, which are rich with medieval ruins, 16th-century architecture, and the backdrop of timeless Irish myths.
Discovering the Cliffs of Moher
Our journey first takes us to the iconic Cliffs of Moher, stretching over 8 kilometers (5 miles) and towering at 210 meters (688 feet). These cliffs are celebrated as one of the most remarkable natural wonders in the world. Keep your eyes open for local avifauna, including cormorants and puffins, which frequently inhabit this region!
Exploring Inisheer
After soaking in the breathtaking views and capturing your memories, we will continue to the vibrant town of Doolin to board a ferry for a 30-minute crossing to Inisheer, the smallest of the Aran Islands. Be on the lookout for dolphins, which are commonly spotted in these waters!
Upon arrival on the island, you’ll have the freedom to explore at your leisure. Despite its small size, Inisheer is full of delights. Immerse yourself in the rich Irish culture and enjoy the island's lush landscapes. Visit the historic remains of St. Cavan's Church, dating back to the 10th century, and the remarkable Plassey shipwreck, a 600-ton vessel that ran aground during a storm in the 1960s!
After your exploration, we will retrace our route back to the mainland, where you'll gain yet another perspective of the Cliffs of Moher—make sure your camera is ready! Once we return, a final hour of free time awaits for you to enjoy the summit at your own pace.
We’ll then board the bus for our return to Galway, wrapping up this enriching 10-hour experience.
