Day Excursion to Cerro Blanco Forest

Our adventure begins at 5:15 am, where we will gather at Avenida Presidente Isidro Ayora, conveniently located near Guayaquil airport. A comfortable minibus will transport us to the Cerro Blanco Protected Forest, with a brief journey of just 25 minutes.

Upon arrival, we will traverse this expansive natural area, delving into the variety of tropical plant species. You will also have the opportunity to learn about the different types of timber trees used in furniture production and other items. Can you identify the guayacanes and peniches? We’ll provide you with the knowledge to tell them apart!

Following the Howler Monkey Trail, we will seek out the many exotic bird species that call this forest home—over 240 distinct varieties have been documented! The conservation efforts for this area are essential due to both its unique vegetation and the presence of nine endangered bird species.

As we explore Cerro Blanco, keep your camera ready to capture images of various Ecuadorian wildlife, including iguanas that you will surely want to photograph!

After our guided exploration of the forest, we will return to our vehicle, concluding the trip around 12:15 pm at the original meeting point.
