At your selected departure time, our team will meet you at your accommodation in Huánuco to begin our short journey to the Kotosh archaeological site, located a mere 3 miles (5 kilometers) from the city.

This remarkable location boasts constructions that date back over 4,200 years, representing some of the earliest instances of architectural development in the Andes. Among these structures, the Temple of the Crossed Hands stands out as a notable rectangular ceremonial site where high reliefs featuring two crossed hands were unearthed. Scholars propose various interpretations of these symbols, often connecting them to Andean cosmovision and the origins of the world.

As we wander through the stone and mud structures of Kotosh, immerse yourself in the spiritual essence of this ancient place. We'll pause at the Temple of the Crossed Hands, where you'll learn about its discovery by the Japanese archaeologist Seiichi Izumi during the 1960s.
