Itinerary

We will begin by collecting you from your accommodation on Isabela Island at the scheduled time, ready for this captivating tour of the sulfur mines. Adventure awaits!

After a 45-minute drive, we will arrive near the Sierra Negra Volcano, which stands at an impressive 1,124 meters (3,687 feet) above sea level. Our exploration will take us around the western region of the Sierra Negra basin, leading us towards the renowned sulfur mines of Isabela Island.

Here, we will immerse ourselves in the island's mesmerizing landscape as we proceed on a walking tour around the basin of the Sierra Negra Volcano. Different hiking paths will guide us to the stunning sulfur mines, where you will observe vibrant yellow rocks, a result of the cooling of volcanic gases.

Continuing our journey, we will tackle a 2-kilometer (1.2-mile) trail, traversing steep cliffs while admiring the cone and its vents. The highlight will be at the entrance of the Sierra Negra crater, offering breathtaking panoramic views and the chance to see more sulfur vents. Bring your camera to capture the moment!

Prior to concluding our visit to the sulfur mines, we will take a break to recharge. Enjoy a delightful picnic-style lunch, featuring a sandwich, refreshing juice, and seasonal fruit.

After approximately 4-5 hours, we will return you to your hotel on Isabela Island.
