Activity Details

Your adventure begins with a 2.5-hour minibus ride from your hotel in Kandy to the stunning Kaudulla National Park, renowned for its ecological richness.

Upon arrival, we will board a jeep to embark on the Kaudulla safari. Over the course of three hours, we will explore the park's critical environmental significance. Designated as an IBA (Important Bird and Biodiversity Area), it boasts 160 bird species, along with 24 mammals, 25 reptiles, and 26 fish species. You'll have the chance to observe various birds, including cranes, peacocks, and pelicans, enhancing your skills in bird identification.

A picnic break will be scheduled, so be sure to bring your lunch! In the afternoon, our safari resumes in regions of Kaudulla where numerous Asian elephants are found. While this species faces the threat of extinction, Sri Lanka remains one of the few nations home to a substantial population of these magnificent mammals.

Throughout our journey in Kaudulla, we will also aim to spot other wildlife such as buffalos and Ceylon deer. The park is home to a substantial variety of Asian reptiles, many of which are endemic to Sri Lanka and specific regions of India.

Our safari will conclude at the park's entrance, where we will return to your hotel in Kandy, arriving approximately 10 hours later.
