Your journey begins with a convenient pickup from your accommodation in Kandy, setting off on a 2.5-hour minibus ride to one of Sri Lanka’s most stunning natural settings: Minneriya National Park.

Upon arrival, we’ll board a jeep to embark on a photographic safari through the park's wetlands. This ecologically rich area is home to a variety of wildlife, ranging from crocodiles to monkeys and slow lorises, offering exceptional opportunities for observation and photography.

After enjoying a picnic break, we’ll resume our safari to observe the renowned Minneriya elephants. Did you know these magnificent creatures can weigh up to five tonnes? They are often found in small groups and can typically be seen at various locations throughout the park.

The allure of Minneriya isn’t limited to elephants; the park is also a haven for numerous species of Asian birds. As we traverse the landscape, we will have chances to spot striking birds like pelicans, herons, and ibises, all of which share the park's lakes and waterholes with Ceylon buffalos. Despite their robust appearance, these animals are known for their gentle nature.

As we conclude our safari in Minneriya, we will board the minibus and return to our hotels in Kandy, a journey that will wrap up after approximately 8.5 hours.
