Dakshinkali Day Excursion

We will meet you at your accommodation in Kathmandu at a time that suits you. From there, a delightful one-hour journey will take us to Dakshinkali, a charming village situated to the south of Nepal’s capital.

Your adventure begins with a leisurely walk through the village, where the stunning scenery presents exceptional views of renowned Himalayan peaks, including Manaslu and Dorje Lhakpa. On clear days, the iconic silhouette of Everest may also be visible.

Next, we will proceed to the Dakshinkali Temple, a revered site dedicated to Kali, the goddess often depicted with four arms. At the entrance, you may observe worshippers engaging in animal sacrifices, including offerings of roosters, ducks, goats, and even buffalo.

In addition, this site provides insight into various Hindu traditions and customs associated with the worship of Kali. Followers utilize a range of bells and vibrant ceremonial necklaces, revealing the depth of their rituals.

Approximately four hours after we commence the journey, we will return you back to your hotel in Kathmandu.
