Wieliczka Salt Mine Day Trip
Description
Embark on a day trip to Wieliczka Salt Mines, one of the most-visited landmarks in Poland. You'll explore the subterranean salt-carved chapels and galleries with striking statues, chandeliers, and altars.
Wieliczka Salt Mine Day Trip
At the designated time, we'll board a comfortable air-conditioned minibus for a short ride to Wieliczka, located 9.32 miles (15 kilometers) from Krakow.
Upon arrival at this UNESCO World Heritage site, follow your knowledgeable guide down 350 steps into one of the oldest salt mines in Europe. During this 2.1-mile (3.5-kilometer) walking tour, discover over 20 salt-chiseled rooms, underground lakes, mining tools, and unique salt-made sculptures.
The guide will provide insight into the history of the mine and its transformation into an "underground village." The tour concludes with a return to the surface via the original elevator used by miners. Souvenirs made from salt rock will also be available for purchase.
After 4 to 5 hours, we'll return to the starting point.
