Journey to Lake Titicaca and Tiwanaku

The adventure commences with a pickup from your accommodation in La Paz, setting the course for the remarkable Tiwanaku ruins.

Upon arrival, we will initiate a tour of this historic site, which features seven significant architectural structures: Kalasasaya, the semi-subterranean temple, Akapana pyramid, Kantantika, Kerikala, Putuni, and Puma Punku.

During our 2-hour drive, we will reach Tiwanaku, an essential city for the Inca Empire that thrived here over 2,500 years ago. We will delve into the renowned ruins of this archaeological site, enhancing our appreciation for the symbol of Bolivian identity.

As part of our exploration, we will visit the Tiwanaku Museum and key landmarks, including the carved stone monoliths and the celebrated Sun Gate, another icon representing Bolivia!

Afterward, we will proceed to Huatajata, a quaint village nestled along the shores of Lake Titicaca. An interesting tidbit: this lake is recognized as the second-largest in South America and holds the title of the highest navigable lake in the world.

Set amid this stunning landscape, we will pause for lunch, where you can savor traditional local dishes. Once revitalized from this authentic meal, we will head to the Reed Rafts Museum, where we will gain insight into the craftsmanship behind these traditional vessels. To cap off the day, we will enjoy a serene sailing experience on the gentle waters of Lake Titicaca aboard a raft.

After an enriching day discovering some of Bolivia's treasures, we will return to La Paz, arriving at your hotel approximately 9 hours later.
