Our journey begins at 10 am with a pick-up from your accommodation, leading us into the rich religious heritage of La Vega, where we will delve into the essence of the Catholic faith.

We will meander through Duarte Park, making our way to the Immaculate Conception Cathedral. Upon arrival, you will have the opportunity to enter and marvel at the vibrant hues of its walls, which carry profound meaning, alongside the striking semi-elliptical columns and the significant symbolism behind the number 12. You will also encounter the unconventional depiction of the resurrected Christ and the Virgin of Christopher Columbus, in addition to the historic first cross established in America.

Our next stop brings us to the Sacred Museum, where a collection of Taíno figures, archaeological artifacts, paintings, and valuable relics awaits, including an exhibition commemorating the initial indigenous baptism. Exiting the museum will take us to the site of the previous cathedral before ascending to Santo Cerro, the location of the Church of Our Lady of Mercedes. Here, we will explore the legend surrounding the indigenous peoples and the sighting of the Virgin Mary.

Continuing our exploration, we will visit La Vega Vieja, the site of the first Spanish settlement established in the region. This settlement, however, met its end due to a devastating earthquake in the 16th century. During our time here, we will uncover the narrative of Christianization and the influence of the area's earliest inhabitants.

After concluding this enthralling experience, we will return you to the original meeting point, marking the end of our tour at approximately 1:30 pm.
