Cozumel Day Trip

translucent waters of the Caribbean Sea as you embark on a day trip to Cozumel from Mérida. This journey highlights the island's abundant marine life, renowned for its stunning coral formations.

Trip Overview

At dawn, your Mérida hotel will be the starting point for a scenic drive of about 4.5 hours towards the coast. From the pier in Playa del Carmen, a ferry transport of approximately 30 to 35 minutes will take you directly to Cozumel. The adventure awaits!

Your first destination on the island will be the renowned Palancar and Colombia reefs, known for their vibrant underwater ecosystems. You will have an hour for snorkeling and uncovering the rich biodiversity that flourishes within these beautiful coral gardens.

Following that, prepare to discover a true paradise on earth – El Cielito, a famous sanctuary for starfish. You will enjoy an hour of leisure to explore, swim, or snorkel while enveloped by a myriad of colorful fish. This shallow sandy area with pristine waters is ideal for observing starfish in their natural habitat.

After a fulfilling day basking in the Caribbean's beauty, we will enjoy a lovely lunch. The meal features a classic Mexican plate with breaded chicken, rice, and salad, paired with a refreshing drink—an excellent way to savor the local culinary flavors!

Refreshed and energized, we will make our way back to the ferry for the return trip to Playa del Carmen. Finally, you will head back to Mérida, with drop-off at your hotel after an enriching and enjoyable 17-hour day.
