This wine tour around Pico Island begins at the designated time from the Cais da Madalena Pico.

Your first stop will be at Moinho do Frade, renowned for its picturesque wine-growing landscapes. These areas have been designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site, representing a natural jewel of the Azores archipelago!

The journey continues to the Cooperativa do Vinho, where participants will enjoy a tasting of a diverse selection of white, red, and liqueur wines, featuring Frei Gigante, the most famous white wine in the Azores.

Next, a delightful lunch in a local restaurant offers dishes made from fresh ingredients such as tuna and local meats, all paired with Pico wines - a true gastronomic experience!

As we stroll through the black villages crafted from volcanic stones, we’ll make our way to Madalena. On the outskirts of this town lies the Wine Museum. Here, we will tour the vineyards, wine presses, and various sites within the facilities, gaining insights into the cultivation of the vines that produce the grapes used in these excellent wines. Additionally, the largest dragon trees on Pico Island can be found at this location.

The itinerary includes a visit to a winery for a second tasting of local wines, featuring the traditional Verdelho do Pico.

The tour concludes 8 hours after departure, returning to the original meeting point.
