Private Batik Workshop

Your day begins with a pick-up from your hotel in Malang at 8 am, followed by a scenic drive north to the Singosari district to delve into its rich handicraft heritage.

After approximately one hour on the road, we will arrive at the charming town of Klampok, home to the remarkable Singhasari Museum. Here, we will embark on a brief exploration of the museum, where you can admire local sculptures and craftsmanship while gaining insight into the batik technique, a traditional art that utilizes beeswax and kerosene for fabric adornment.

Following our museum visit, we will head to a specialized workshop to master the art of fabric decoration using this time-honored method. You will have the freedom to select your preferred designs and recreate them on fabric with the help of brushes and a canting (also known as tjanting), a unique tool featuring a metal tip for wax application.

Once you have completed your design, we will allow it to dry as we enjoy a traditional Indonesian lunch. After concluding the batik workshop, we will make our way back to Malang, returning you to your hotel by around 3 pm.
