During this hiking adventure along the coastal stretch of Mar del Plata, participants will have the opportunity to explore the urban nature reserves found in this region of Buenos Aires province.

Itinerary

At the designated hour, participants will gather at the Centro Comercial del Puerto, a shopping venue situated near the Mar del Plata docks.

Once the group is complete, the hiking excursion will commence, allowing us to familiarize ourselves with the coastal urban nature reserves. Accompanied by a guide fluent in Spanish, we’ll embark on a low-difficulty trail that begins at the Mar del Plata Port Nature Reserve, home to a remarkable colony of sea lions.

After uncovering the significance of this vital urban nature reserve, we will see how the ecosystem flows into the lagoons of Punta Mogotes. As we stroll through this coastal expanse, we will appreciate the rich biodiversity of the area and observe the changes it has undergone due to human influence over time. The expert guide will share fascinating narratives about the transformation of these landscapes. A relaxing picnic featuring a sandwich, a fruit, and a bottle of mineral water will also be part of our experience.

Following our picnic, we’ll retrace our steps back to the starting location by walking along the lovely beaches of Punta Mogotes. Our final stop will be at the Museo del Hombre del Puerto, where we’ll dive deeper into the historical, cultural, and environmental changes that the coast of Mar del Plata and its nature reserves have experienced throughout the years.

This enriching tour will conclude as we return to our initial meeting point after a total of 4 hours of engaging exploration.
