Gran Canaria Food Tour

Embark on a culinary journey through the unique flavors of Gran Canaria with this exceptional food tour. Experience the rich heritage of the island as we explore the Arehucas rum distillery and the intriguing Banana Museum in Arucas. You'll also have the opportunity to visit a farm in Agaete, where you can sample coffee and wine and participate in a Canarian mojo workshop.

Activity Details

Your adventure begins at the selected meeting point in the southern region of Gran Canaria, where we will pick you up at the designated time. Prepare yourself to uncover the island's delightful flavors!

To kick off our tour, we'll travel to Arucas. This picturesque town in northern Gran Canaria will be our first stop, where we will explore the Arehucas distillery. Here, we'll delve into the fascinating process of how rum is crafted from sugar cane. At the conclusion of the factory tour, participants interested in tasting will have the chance to sample various types of rum.

Following our visit to the distillery, we will proceed to the Banana Museum. During the guided tour, you'll gain insights into the history of bananas, a pivotal element of Canarian cuisine. You'll also learn to identify the local variety, recognized for its diminutive size and distinctive yellow color adorned with brown flecks.

In the museum shop, you can find an assortment of products including wines, liqueurs, pâtés, and banana-based creams. Afterward, a local restaurant awaits, where you can savor traditional Gran Canarian dishes at your own pace, sure to tantalize your taste buds!

After the meal, the gastronomic adventure continues at the finca La Laja, located just outside of Agaete. Here, you'll enjoy a delightful coffee and wine tasting. To round off our visit, participate in a mojo canario workshop, where you will learn to prepare the classic sauces that complement papas arrugadas (wrinkled potatoes).

Upon completing the workshop, we'll return you to the meeting point in the southern part of Gran Canaria.

• 7:45 to 8:20 am: from Puerto de Mogán to Arguineguin. Approximate arrival at 5:30 pm.
• 8:35 to 8:45 am: from Sonnenland and Meloneras to Campo de Golf. Approximate arrival at 5 pm.
• 8:50 to 9:20 am: from Playa del Inglés to Bahía Feliz. Approximate arrival at 5 pm.
