Join us on an unforgettable Rio Verde Trip originating from Medellín, where you can choose to immerse yourself in nature for either 1 or 2 days while exploring this stunning region of Antioquia and navigating its pristine waters.

Description

Our adventure begins with a timely pickup from the Masaya Hostel in Medellín, followed by a scenic drive in our jeep towards the picturesque Antioquia mountains.

Upon arrival in the charming village of Boquerón, we will embark on a 1-hour hike through the canyon, surrounded by breathtaking views. A team of mules will accompany us, carrying all necessary gear for our journey.

Are you ready to hit the rapids? Our guide will provide essential safety instructions before we board the rafts and set off on a thrilling descent along the Rio Verde. Expect to experience an exhilarating 15.5-mile (25-kilometre) journey filled with waves, whirlpools, and exciting rapids.

Midway through our rafting adventure, we will pause for a delicious picnic lunch. This is the perfect opportunity to take a refreshing swim and plunge into the inviting pools of the Rio Verde.

After our break, we’ll hop back onto the rafts for more excitement, as we’ve reserved the most exhilarating rapids for the final leg of our ride! The adventure concludes at the Samaná River bridge, where our drivers will be ready to take us back to our original meeting point.

After an astonishing day immersed in nature, we will return to Medellín, concluding our journey with approximately 13 hours of adventure.

2-Day Trip

If you prefer a more extensive experience, consider opting for our 2-day trip to Rio Verde during your booking process.

On the first day, we’ll enjoy the same exhilarating rafting experience as previously described. Once we reach the river’s edge, we will set up our hammocks for a memorable overnight stay, followed by a sumptuous dinner (with vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free options available). Rest soundly!

The second day can begin with a refreshing swim in the river while we prepare your breakfast. After a fulfilling meal, we’ll take a stroll through the canyon and alongside a stream in the vicinity of Rio Verde. Subsequently, we will board our rafts once more to explore hidden waterfalls and secluded spots.

Before continuing our rafting, we will pause for another picnic lunch (with vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free choices available). Keep an eye out for exotic birds soaring above!

Our adventure will conclude at the bridge of the Samaná river, marking the start of our journey back to the meeting point in Medellín. We anticipate arriving around 8 pm for heartfelt farewells.

Accommodation

The 2-day trip encompasses a night of camping under the stars, complete with hammocks.
