Activity Overview
We will commence the journey from your hotel at the specified time, embarking on a scenic trip into the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta. Here, an indigenous community awaits to share their world with us amidst breathtaking natural surroundings.
Following a scenic 30-minute trek through lush trails, we will reach the village. Prepare to be enthralled by the tribe's traditional garments and their vibrant way of life, rich in symbolism. Engage with the community members to uncover their ancestral practices and longstanding traditions; amongst these is the artistry involved in crafting their woolen bags.
Your hosts will guide you through the intricate process of creating these unique bags. The art of bag-making is a labor-intensive endeavor, rich with cultural significance and philosophy. After this interactive workshop, we will explore the surrounding environment, passing by avocado, mango, yucca, and banana plantations.
At lunchtime, savor a delicious meal prepared by the community members. Following the meal, you'll have the chance to meet the animals that call this place home, including pigs, chickens, dogs, and owls.
