Tour Overview
Our meeting point is at the Piazza San Domenico Maggiore, conveniently located just a short stroll from the Cappella Sansevero, an exceptional example of Neapolitan Baroque architecture that is home to an extraordinary masterpiece: the Veiled Christ.
Throughout our guided exploration of the Cappella Sansevero, we will delve into this breathtaking sculpture, which appears to have been carved by otherworldly hands. The Veiled Christ is recognized as one of the foremost masterpieces in sculpture worldwide. We will discuss the life and work of Giuseppe Sanmartino, the sculptor, along with his benefactor, Raimondo di Sangro.
In addition, we will examine other significant artworks, including Modesty by Antonio Corradini and Il Disinganno by Francesco Queirolo, which contribute to a collection rich in symbolism. Noteworthy are also the enigmaticAnatomical Machines, two human skeletons displaying an intricate depiction of the circulatory system, meticulously crafted by physician Giuseppe Salerno.
Our visit will wrap up after approximately 35 minutes, concluding just outside the Cappella Sansevero.

Please note that the use of cameras and phones is not allowed inside the Cappella de Sansevero. Pushchairs are also not allowed.
