Complimentary Walking Tour of Panama City
We will gather at a designated central location in Panama City at the scheduled time to kick off this exploration of the old quarter in Panama City.
Our journey begins at the Santa María la Antigua Cathedral, notable for its striking twin bell towers adorned with mother-of-pearl inlays. The intricately carved façade features elements from both the classical and Renaissance periods.
As we stroll through the city’s main thoroughfares, we will stop at the San José Church, home to the exquisite Altar de Oro. This magnificent Churrigueresque altarpiece, crafted from mahogany and gilded with gold, dates back to the 18th century.
Next, we will proceed to the Santo Domingo Church, where the historic Arco Chato can be admired—a remarkable 18th-century structure once integral to the parish's choir. Our path will then lead us to the Plaza Francia, showcasing seven vaulted spaces that were a part of the city’s defensive architecture.
The tour will last approximately between 2 hours and 15 minutes to 3 hours, concluding at a central location back in Panama City.
