Montmartre Free Walking Tour
Description
Take a tour through the narrow streets of this cultural and artistic district of Paris, sought out by artists such as Picasso and Van Gogh for inspiration.
Montmartre Free Walking Tour
We'll meet near the historic Moulin Rouge and climb uphill towards Montmartre in the 18th arrondissement. This district has been featured in various films. As we explore, we will visit the Café des Deux Moulins (from the film Amélie), the House of Van Gogh, and the Moulin de la Galette, the last windmill of Paris.
Next, we will see the Saint-Pierre Montmartre, the second-oldest church in Paris, with history dating back to the 5th century AD. We will also visit the Wall of Love, a 40 square meter wall created in 2000 that features "I love you" written in over 200 languages.
We will continue to classic points of interest like Bateau Lavoir, Place Dalida, and the neighborhood's last surviving vineyard.
As we approach the hill's summit, we will pass the Place du Tertre, the former heart of the Benedictine Montmartre Abbey, and the Lapin Agile, a famous cabaret.
Our tour concludes at the Basilica Sacré Coeur, adorned with statues of Joan of Arc and King Saint Louis IX. Located at Paris' highest point, it offers breathtaking views of the city, rivaling the Eiffel Tower.
After 2 to 2 hours and 45 minutes exploring this famous neighborhood, we will conclude the tour.
