Phnom Penh Private Tour
Description
Phnom Penh is a city rich in ancient temples and palaces. This private guided tour allows you to explore the Cambodian capital's cultural heritage and history with an English-speaking guide.
Phnom Penh Private Tour Itinerary
Your adventure begins with pickup from your hotel in Phnom Penh, followed by a visit to the Royal Palace. Situated in the heart of the city, this complex has been the residence of the Cambodian King since the 1860s and serves as a quintessential example of Khmer architecture.
Within the Royal Palace complex, you'll explore the Silver Pagoda (entrance fee not included). Also known as the Temple of the Emerald Buddha, this stunning structure houses significant national treasures, including the renowned green crystal Buddha and a life-size gold Maitreya Buddha adorned with nearly 10,000 diamonds.
Next, your guided tour will take you to the National Museum (entrance fee not included), where you can delve into the history of Phnom Penh and admire a valuable collection of Khmer art. After absorbing the historical insights, you'll pause for a meal at a local restaurant, enjoying a lunch of typical delicacies.
After lunch, invigorated and ready, you’ll visit Wat Ounalom, the most significant temple of its kind in Phnom Penh. Established in the 15th century, this monastery complex comprises 44 buildings, resembling a small city where Buddhist monks live, study, and practice their faith. In addition to its temples, you will learn about one of the city's cherished treasures: an eyebrow hair believed to have belonged to Buddha.
Your tour continues to Wat Phnom (entrance not included), the tallest religious structure in the city, built in 1372 and the namesake of Phnom Penh. Lastly, you will explore the famous Russian Market, one of the city's most vibrant shopping hubs, where you can browse clothing, souvenirs, and indulge in delicious bites from food stalls.
At the conclusion of your tour, you'll be returned to your hotel around 5 pm.
