Expedition to Mount Vesuvius

The adventure begins at the designated meeting point at Porta Marina Superiore, which serves as the entrance to the Pompeii archaeological site. From here, we will travel by minibus towards Mount Vesuvius. Ready for the journey?

As we ascend, the stunning volcanic terrain will gradually unfold before us. The vivid hues of lava formations, ash, and pumice stone will contrast beautifully with the surrounding vegetation. Interestingly, the ancient Romans regarded Vesuvius as the holy sanctuary of Hercules.

Upon reaching the crater of the volcano, we will be treated to breathtaking views of the Bay of Naples while delving into the history of the notable eruption in August of 79 AD. We will also discuss the extensive research efforts and continuous monitoring that are ongoing in the area due to its persistent volcanic activity.

Afterward, we will descend the volcano and return to our starting point, completing the experience in about 3 hours.
