Experience a captivating day trip to Celestún, where you'll immerse yourself in one of Yucatán's most intriguing ecosystems, renowned for its rich biodiversity. Set sail on a boat adventure through the mangroves and lagoons, providing a unique chance to observe pink flamingos in their native environment.

Details of the Day Trip

At the designated time, you will be collected from your Progreso hotel for a journey to the Ría Celestun Biosphere Reserve, a renowned highlight in the Yucatán region.

Following a 1.5-hour drive, we will arrive in Celestún, where a boat awaits to commence a 2.5-hour exploration through the mangroves, lagoons, and coastal waters.

Throughout the boat trip, anticipate delightful encounters with a wide array of birds, including the iconic pink flamingos, alongside pelicans, herons, and a host of other avian species. Remember to capture the moments with your camera!

We will also navigate the mangrove canals, where, with some luck, you may spot crocodiles and turtles. If conditions permit, you’ll have a chance to take a refreshing swim in a natural pool of clear waters amidst stunning surroundings.

After our exploration of the mangroves, we will proceed to Celestún Beach, approximately a 30-minute drive away. Here, you will have 2.5 hours of leisure time to enjoy the sun, swim in the refreshing waters, and savor a delicious lunch at one of the local eateries.

To conclude the day, we will return to Progreso, where you will be dropped off at your hotel, wrapping up approximately 9 hours of exploration and discovery.
