Saona Island Beach Tour
Description
Embark on an unforgettable journey through the breathtaking beaches of Saona Island, departing from Punta Cana. During this excursion, you'll uncover some of the island's hidden gems that are often overlooked.
Tour Details
Your adventure begins with a pick-up at your Punta Cana hotel at the scheduled time. Once we have gathered, we'll head towards Bayahíbe to board a speedboat and commence our tour of Saona Island.
As we cruise along, we'll pause briefly at Palmyra Beach. This stunning oasis is an essential stop, allowing you to submerge yourself in its crystal-clear waters.
Continuing our voyage, we'll reach Saona Island, where our exploration will take us to the beaches of Mano de Juan and Caleta. Here, you'll find pristine stretches of soft white sands adorned with coconut palms and flourishing local wildlife.
Feeling hungry? Time for lunch! You'll indulge in a traditional seaside meal featuring rice, meat, salad, pasta, and a refreshing non-alcoholic beverage. Enjoy!
Post-lunch, we'll make our way to the quaint fishing village of Mano Juan. Engage with the local community and meet the caretakers at the sea turtle conservation center, who will share insights into the nurturing of baby sea turtles.
Next on the agenda is Los Flamencos beach, an idyllic area with stunning turquoise waters, perfect for unwinding and feeling the soft breeze. Afterwards, we’ll embark on a boat excursion into the mangrove lagoons nearby. Here, you may take a dip and, with some luck, catch a glimpse of the renowned giant sea stars. Remember to tread cautiously to protect their natural habitat.
We’ll conclude our experience with a toast featuring Dominican rum before setting off back to Bayahíbe. From there, a bus will transport us back to Punta Cana.
The return journey will take approximately 8 to 11.5 hours.

Important
- The conditions of the motorboat ride will depend on the tides and sea conditions. The trip may be a bit bumpy, so for this reason, the activity is not recommended for people with back or neck problems. In any case, all seats have backrests and, if you sit at the back of the boat, you'll feel less movement.
- We highly recommend starting the day with a hearty breakfast to ensure you have enough energy for the excursion ahead.
- Photography equipment is not provided by our company. If you wish to have professional photos taken, you can hire somebody on your own. We suggest discussing the price and quantity of photos to be delivered beforehand, ensuring both parties are clear on the agreed conditions. You should also get the photographer's name, surname, email, and telephone number. Verify that the photographer writes down their email for photo delivery or for future reference (make sure to write them within a day, as photos are usually deleted).
- Additionally, on the beach, you may encounter local vendors selling handicrafts, women offering massages, or coconut water sellers inviting you to taste their refreshing products. These individuals are part of the community on Saona Island, and their livelihood depends on tourism. If you're not interested, politely declining is completely understandable. However, if you choose to purchase their products or services, you'll be supporting the local economy and contributing to their success. We appreciate your collaboration in promoting and developing the community.
- If you´re going to do the excursion with children, on the day of the activity it´s likely that we´ll ask you for a document proving their age, so they should bring either their passport or a photo of it.
