In addition, you will have the opportunity to visit the vibrant fair market at the Tripartite Landmark, where the borders of Chile, Bolivia, and Peru converge.

Tour of the Villages of General Lagos

Your adventure begins with a pick-up at 6 am from your accommodations in Putre, as we drive to the northernmost point of General Lagos. This scenic area lies within the Arica and Parinacota region of Chile.

Upon clearing customs, we will arrive at the Tripartite Landmark, the precise juncture of Chile, Bolivia, and Peru, where a bustling fair market operates every Sunday, showcasing products from all three neighboring countries.

During our time at the market, we will explore the vibrant stalls of street vendors and gain insight into the diverse merchandise available in the Andean Altiplano. After this, we will re-enter Chilean territory by passing through border control once more to continue our exploration of General Lagos.

Our first stop will be in the town of Visviri, where you’ll discover the intriguing railway history connected to the train service that once linked Arica with La Paz, passing through this locale. From there, we’ll proceed to the village of Cosapilla, known for its remarkable church, where we will pause for a picnic lunch featuring sandwiches, dried fruits, chocolates, and refreshing juices.

To conclude our journey, we’ll visit Caquena, with an eye out for native Andean wildlife such as llamas, alpacas, and vicuñas. Following our exploration, we will return you to your hotel in Putre, with drop-off expected between 12 and 2 pm.
