Experience the breathtaking landscape of Suriplaza and its Colorful Mountains during this hiking adventure. Departing from Putre, you'll explore one of the most stunning regions of the Chilean highlands.

Your adventure begins with a pickup at your hotel in Putre between 7 and 8 am, followed by a journey to Caquena. The next stop will be Cosapilla, where we will delve into a picturesque segment of the Chilean Altiplano. Get ready to marvel at the vibrant mountains of Suriplaza!

Upon reaching the base, we will embark on a hiking experience divided into three distinct stages. This 4-hour trek spans approximately 4 miles (6 kilometers) and features a variety of medium-difficulty trails that showcase the striking reddish, ochre, and brown hues of the Suriplaza Mountains.

During the first stage, we ascend to an impressive altitude of 16,732 feet (5,100 meters) above sea level. The subsequent two stages will take us even higher, reaching altitudes of 17,060 and 17,388 feet (5,200 and 5,300 meters). As we climb, we'll be treated to stunning vistas of the polylepis and yareta forests, both unique botanical species native to this region.

A mid-hike break will allow us to enjoy a picnic lunch featuring sandwiches, dried fruits, chocolate, and juices. After re-energizing, we will descend to explore the diverse colors of the Suriplaza Mountains up close.

Finally, we'll conclude our journey by returning to the starting point and heading back to Putre, with an expected arrival at your hotel between 4 and 5 pm. Until next time!
