Your day begins at 8 am with a pickup from your accommodation in Riobamba, followed by a scenic drive to the Hermanos Carrel mountain lodge, situated at an impressive altitude of 5,900 feet (1,800 metres). Upon arrival, you will receive a bag containing a sandwich, a piece of fruit, and juice, perfect for your midway rest.

After a brief walk to visit the breathtaking Condorcocha Lagoon, perched at 16,732 feet (5,100 metres), we will return to the Hermanos Carrel camp to kick off the cycling adventure around the Chimborazo Volcano.

This thrilling 23-mile (38-kilometre) route begins in a dry paramo region where you can expect to spot herds of vicuñas, curiquingues, and stellate hummingbirds. Furthermore, you will have the opportunity to admire unique flora such as ñáchag, romerillo, and ashpachocho, all while enjoying spectacular views of the Central Andes.

We will traverse twisting rural goat paths known as chaquiñanes and ride through expansive gorges adorned with lush meadows as we make our way to the village of San Juan, marking the conclusion of our cycling leg.

Your journey will culminate as we return to your hotel in Riobamba around 5 pm.
