Can you imagine racing through the snow-covered forests of Lapland? Experience the thrill of riding a snowmobile in a stunning natural environment around Rovaniemi.

Activity Details

After your pickup at the hotel in Rovaniemi, you will be equipped with thermal clothing, gloves, boots, and a helmet to keep you warm in the Finnish cold. A guide will provide basic instructions for driving the snowmobiles before we head out to explore the snowy forests encircling the capital of Lapland.

During the tour, you’ll journey for approximately an hour through the frozen Lapland glaciers, taking in the breathtaking landscape of Rovaniemi. If it's your first time, you'll find these snowmobiles easy to handle, experiencing a newfound sense of freedom as you glide across the snow!

At the conclusion of our snowmobile adventure, we will return you to your hotel in Rovaniemi.

Activity Options

When booking, you can select between a daytime excursion or a nighttime snowmobile ride, allowing you to enjoy the enchanting atmosphere of the forests after dark. The choice is yours!

Children Under 12

Guides will manage the sleds for children under 12 years old, which are pulled by snowmobiles. Children not participating in the sled can ride as passengers on the snowmobiles if they are 140 cm (4 ft 5 in) or taller and can pay the adult rate.

Shared Snowmobile

Individuals booking for one will need to share a snowmobile with another participant during the tour. Please take note that rates are per person, not per vehicle.

Pickup Info

Pickup is available from hotels within 1 to 15 kilometers (0.6 to 9.3 miles) from the center of Rovaniemi. The timing of the activity is approximate. Depending on the season and availability, pickup can be arranged throughout the day. After your booking is made, we will contact you to confirm the specific time. If your accommodation is outside this range, we will provide a meeting point after your booking is confirmed.

Activity Requirements

Drivers must be over 18, possess a valid driver's license, and refrain from consuming alcohol or drugs.
The local team may request health or pregnancy information to assess participant fitness.
In the event of an accident, you are responsible for any material damage.
The guide or provider reserves the right to exclude any participant deemed a risk to themselves or the group, and may cancel the activity without a refund.

Pickup takes place at hotels located within a radius of 15 km (9.3 mi) of the centre of Rovaniemi.

If your hotel is outside this radius, you may go to one of the following locations:

Apukka Resort (Tutkijantie 28, 96900 Rovaniemi, Finland)
Motelli Rovaniemi (Kemintie 945, 96700 Rovaniemi, Finland)

You must be in the hotel lobby or at the meeting point 10 minutes in advance. You must present your tour confirmation voucher and photo ID.

Important Info

You must bring your driving licence to take part in this activity.
Although we provide thermal clothing, we recommend that you wear thermal base layer trousers and a thermal base layer T-shirt.
Please note that the prices shown are per person, not per vehicle. Therefore, if you book for one person, you'll have to share the snowmobile with another person on the tour.

The designated time is approximate and subject to change. We recommend checking for any notifications from the local team (not Civitatis) in terms of the start time.
We recommend not booking more activities on the day of this activity to avoid overlapping between them if there are any time changes.

If, after 11 pm, you book this activity for the next day, it's possible that the activity will start in the evening. If you book on the same day as the activity, it's probable that you will also enjoy the activity in the afternoon schedule.

Terms and Conditions

The driver must be at least 18 years old, have a valid driving licence and not be under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
