San José Free Walking Tour
Description
The capital of Costa Rica offers a harmonious fusion of history, culture, and culinary delights. Join us to explore the unique allure of the city on our complimentary walking tour of San José.
Tour Overview
We will commence our complimentary walking tour of San José at the designated meeting point, where we'll gather at the specified time.
Beginning with a quick introduction, we'll observe the architectural elegance of the Legislative Assembly and the striking National Museum of Costa Rica. You'll soon learn why this particular building is adorned in yellow. Following this, we will navigate through the notable highlights of the city's historic district.
Our journey will begin at the Paseo de Los Damas, where we'll uncover the reason behind the peculiar use of "los" instead of "las". From there, we will traverse the serene landscapes of the National, Spanish, and Morazán Parks. As we meander through these green spaces, we'll arrive at the enchanting Central Park, home to the magnificent edifice of the Metropolitan Cathedral of San José.
Continuing through the historic quarter of San José, we'll delve into intriguing tidbits regarding Costa Rica's political framework and highlight significant moments in its development over the years.
Before concluding our tour, we'll wander around the iconic National Theater of Costa Rica and visit the renowned San José Market. Here, you’ll find the city's oldest ice cream shop, where you can treat yourself to one of their delightful offerings, available at your own cost.
As we wrap up 2 to 3 hours of immersive exploration, our complimentary walking tour of San José will come to a close.
