Los Tres Ojos & Socoa Falls Day Trip
Description
Experience a day excursion to Tres Ojos and the Salto de Socoa, highlighted by a remarkable legendary cave where you can take a swim near a cascading waterfall. Immerse yourself in the stunning natural beauty of the Dominican Republic!
Excursion to Los Tres Ojos & Socoa Falls
Our adventure begins at the scheduled meeting point, the Monumento Ruinas of the Monasterio de San Francisco. We will venture together to discover two enchanting destinations: Salto de Socoa and Los Tres Ojos await your arrival!
Our first stop is the breathtaking Salto de Socoa, a hidden waterfall located in the lush Monte Plata, known as the greenest province in the Dominican Republic. Upon reaching this serene site, we will savor a cup of aromatic Dominican coffee, made according to traditional methods.
Following our coffee break, we'll embark on a hike leading us to the stunning 20-meter (65 ft) waterfall. While at Salto de Socoa, you'll have the opportunity to take a refreshing dip in the natural pool. Should hunger strike, a skilled cook will be on hand to prepare a delicious charcoal lunch, a culinary technique with roots dating back to the early 20th century.
After enjoying our meal, we’ll trek back through the verdant foliage of the Dominican jungle and board our minibus for the next leg of our journey. Our destination is the remarkable Los Tres Ojos cave, a fascinating location rich in folklore. Here, we'll delve into the history of the Taino Indians, who revered this cave as a sacred venue.
As our six-hour adventure comes to a close, we'll return you to the original meeting point in Santo Domingo.
