Private Excursions Overview

When you make a reservation, you can select from two distinct private excursions, both of which include convenient hotel pickup in Silvia and a return transfer:

Andean Condor Observation + Thermal Springs (11 hours)

Our adventure begins at 6:40 am as we drive towards Puracé National Park, a UNESCO-protected Biosphere Reserve celebrated for its stunning vistas.

Our first stop will be a scenic viewpoint for condor spotting. Here, we will seek out these majestic birds native to the high Andes, sharing fascinating insights about this endangered species.

The remainder of the day will focus on exploring the rich flora of the region and visiting key sites such as the Andulbio Lagoon and a local wishing well. We will also view the lovely Bedón River waterfall, which cascades down 6 meters, before heading to the rejuvenating San Juan hot springs. You'll have a free hour to enjoy lunch before we conclude our journey back to Silvia, expected around 6 pm.

Puracé Volcano Trekking (13 hours)

To embark on the trek to Puracé Volcano, our pickup will be at 5 am. A two-hour scenic drive will lead us to this iconic Colombian volcano, where you'll enjoy a hot beverage before beginning the ascent.

Throughout the five-hour hike, we will navigate the volcanic slopes, reaching an elevation of 4,673 meters at the summit, boasting remarkable views of the crater. During the trek, we will also delve into intriguing details about the eruption history of Puracé as well as its diverse flora and fauna. After the hike, you’ll have the opportunity to unwind in the hot springs.

We will allocate an hour for lunch during our venture, with a return to Silvia scheduled for 6 pm.
