Palacio da Pena & Gardens Tickets
Description
Explore at your leisure the unique rooms, courtyards, and multicolored towers of this fortress that look like something out of a fairytale with this admission ticket to the Palacio da Pena and its gardens.
Why Visit the Palacio da Pena?
With this ticket, you can visit the most iconic castle in Portugal and walk through its labyrinths and colorful rooms. Are you ready to visit the place that has become synonymous with Sintra?
Built in the 18th century by order of King Ferdinand II, the Palacio da Pena attracts millions of visitors every year. To access it, it's necessary to cross its gardens through winding paths surrounded by trees and exotic plants brought from all continents. Ferdinand II, a lover of the arts and Romantic style, wished to create this fairytale setting after arriving in Sintra and falling in love with its scenery.
Once you reach the top of the hill, the path will lead you directly to the palace entrance. You'll be able to access its interior, just as spectacular as the exterior, and freely explore its courtyards and towers decorated with red, yellow, and blue tiles and stuccoes - a gorgeous labyrinth of color.
Its combination of neo-Gothic, neo-Mudejar, and neo-Manueline architecture has led to the Pena Palace being declared a World Heritage Site by Unesco in 1995, and it has been a National Monument since 1910. And since 2013, this multicolored palace is part of the European Network of Royal Residences.

During the booking process, you can choose between two ticket options:

This option also allows access to the palace's terraces, the kitchen, and the chapel, but does not include access to the interior of the royal apartments.
