Description
Varanasi stands as the most revered among the seven sacred cities of Hinduism. Explore its hidden gems on this guided walking tour of India's spiritual heart.
Varanasi Walking Tour
At the scheduled time, our meeting point will be outside St. Thomas Church, where our journey through Varanasi, one of the most ancient cities globally, will begin. Are you ready to explore the essence of India?
During this journey, we will uncover the iconic landmarks of Varanasi. Our first stops will include the Shri Brihaspati temple, Vyasa temple, and the Tripura Bhairavi temple, which is dedicated to the goddess Parvati. Additionally, we will visit the Nepali Mandir temple, a prominent and historic site devoted to Lord Shiva.
Following this, we will explore one of the city's most significant and oldest temples. This wooden structure, known as Nepali Mandir, was constructed by a 19th-century King from Nepal in honor of Lord Shiva.
We will also journey to the picturesque banks of the Ganges River, specifically to one of the ghats, which are the steps leading down to the renowned river. Here, you will be captivated by the sights that await you. This site may well be one of the most awe-inspiring experiences during your visit to India, immersing you in the unique atmosphere of a genuine crematorium. Did you know that this is a place where Hindus come at the age of 60 to await the end of their life? An unforgettable encounter!
In addition, we will meander through some of the ancient markets of the city, offering opportunities to purchase local products. Our exploration of Varanasi will culminate after two enriching hours together.
