Tour of Palazzo delle Prigioni
At the designated time, we will gather at the entrance to the Palazzo delle Prigioni, situated on the Riva degli Schiavoni beside the Doge's Palace. Are you set to embark on an expedition to uncover the historic prisons of Venice?
Throughout this tour, we will navigate the three levels of the palace, a Venetian edifice originating from the 16th century. Did you know that its design can be credited to the same architect responsible for the Rialto Bridge?
As we progress through the route, we will observe the torture chambers and the various cells, gaining insight into the lives of the prisoners. Casanova managed to escape from one of these very cells... Would you like to discover his method of escape? These intriguing details and more will be revealed during our exploration.
Your guide will narrate the legends linked to the 'Prison Palace' and discuss the severe judgments handed down by the Council of Ten, a key governing assembly in the Republic of Venice from 1310 until 1797.
Concluding our 45-minute adventure, we will say goodbye to our guide and wrap up this insightful tour.

We'll meet up at the Palazzo Delle Prigioni, next to the Doge's Palace, within walking distance of Piazza San Marco. The address is Riva degli Schiavoni 4209, 30122, Venice. The guide will be waiting for you on the first floor, the starting point of the tour. Please be there 15 minutes before the tour is due to start.
