Your journey begins with a convenient pickup at your hotel in Yellowknife, from where we will set off heading east.
After approximately 45 minutes, we will arrive at the Ingraham Trail. At this point, we will disembark to commence an exhilarating hiking adventure to Cameron Falls, the most famous waterfalls in the Northwest Territories! The trek will cover a distance of 1.67 miles (2.7 kilometers) with a slope of 259 feet (79 meters), taking about 1 hour to complete and featuring a moderate level of difficulty.
Throughout the hike, we will pause at various vantage points to appreciate the vibrant boreal forests lining the trail. Keep an eye out for local wildlife, including squirrels and possibly bears. You might also catch a glimpse of a gray jay fly, recognized as Canada’s national bird.
As we navigate this hiking route, you’ll gain insights into the regional geology, observing volcanic rocks that date back a remarkable 4000 years. This natural environment features a fascinatingly rugged yet picturesque terrain, promising enchanting views at every turn!
Towards the conclusion of our hike, we will encounter Cameron Falls. These exquisite waterfalls rise 22 feet (7 meters) high, set against a backdrop of lush forest where you can fill your lungs with fresh, unpolluted air. Immerse yourself in nature!
Upon enjoying the beauty of the falls, we will retrace our steps back to your hotel in Yellowknife, bringing this enriching 4-hour experience to a close.
