2-Day Private Trip to Erg Chegaga Desert

Trip Details

Day 1

At the appointed time, we'll collect you from your Zagora accommodation to embark on our adventure towards the Erg Chegaga desert. Are you ready to explore the expansive golden sands?

On the way, you will have the chance to enjoy picturesque views of Tamegroute and Tizi Ben Selmane. After about 3 hours driving along the historic Dakar Rally route, we will arrive at our camp, surrounded by magnificent dunes.

Upon arrival, you'll embark on a 1-hour camel trek followed by a spectacular viewing of the sunset over Erg Chegaga. Afterwards, you'll savor a traditional Moroccan dinner before retreating to a haima, an authentic Berber tent, under the enchanting starry sky of the desert. It’s bound to captivate you!

Day 2

On the following morning, we will rise early to witness a serene moment: the sunrise over Erg Chegaga. What could be more enchanting than watching the sunrise casting its first light upon the sands? After enjoying this breathtaking sight, we will have breakfast at the camp.

We will then set out on our return to Zagora, making a special stop at M'Hamid El Ghizlane, an oasis town nestled in the Draa Valley. Our journey will also include a visit to Tamegroute, where you can explore a green ceramics workshop, showcasing a local artisanal craft that is sure to impress.

We expect to drop you off at your hotel in Zagora around midday.

Trip Accommodation

This experience includes 1 night in a Berber haima (tent). During the booking phase, you can choose from the following types:

The standard campsite haimas accommodate a maximum of 5 guests, with shared facilities available in communal settings.

In contrast, the luxury campsite haimas, with a capacity of 4 people, offers private bathrooms within the tents.

You will not be required to share a tent with strangers, as we provide double, triple, or family tents. If a booking is made for a single guest, a single supplement fee will apply, as will for individuals within the group looking for a private tent.

The distinction between standard and luxury camps remains clear and separate.
