Tour of Silves and Caldas de Monchique

We'll commence the adventure at 9 am, when you will be collected from your accommodations in Albufeira. The drive to Silves will take around half an hour.

Upon arrival, you'll step into a world rich in Moorish heritage as we explore the charming historic district. Our first stop will feature the impressive Silves Castle, recognized as one of the most well-preserved Moorish fortifications in Portugal. While you take in its striking red-brick exterior, we will share insights into the castle's compelling history, tracing back to the 8th century. Just a short distance away, we will also visit the Cathedral, a remarkable Gothic building that was constructed over the foundations of an ancient mosque.

After our time in Silves, we will board the minibus and continue our journey to Caldas de Monchique, a quaint village renowned for its thermal springs and stunning vistas. As we wander through this serene town, you will sense the tranquility that once drew the Romans to regard it as a sanctuary of relaxation.

Next, we will ascend to Fóia de Monchique, the highest peak in the Algarve. Here, you'll have an opportunity to capture remarkable photographs of the picturesque valleys that hug the Monchique mountains. If the weather permits, the panoramic view will even allow glimpses of the Atlantic Ocean in the distance.

Our excursion will conclude around 1 pm, at which point you will be returned to your hotel.
