Aswan Dam, Philae Temple, and The Unfinished Obelisk

On this tour, participants will explore remarkable human achievements throughout history, including visits to the magnificent Philae Temple and the renowned Unfinished Obelisk, the largest of its kind in the world. The journey also includes admiring the Aswan Dam, a pivotal project of the 20th century.

Itinerary

We'll begin the experience with pickup at your hotel or boat before departing from the historic center towards the Aswan Dam.

The Aswan Dam, completed in 1970, stands as one of the largest engineering feats of the 20th century, built to safeguard Egypt from the annual Nile flooding.

Next, we will visit the Unfinished Obelisk, located in a granite quarry dating back to the reign of Queen Hatshepsut. This colossal structure, if completed, would have been the largest obelisk of Ancient Egypt, standing at 42 meters tall and weighing 1,200 tonnes.

After leaving the quarry, the tour continues to Agilika Island, nestled between the old and new Aswan dams, where the stunning Philae Temple is situated. This temple is dedicated to the goddess Isis and features prominently in the legends of Isis, Osiris, and Horus.

Following the conclusion of the tour, we'll return participants to the starting point, approximately 5 hours after the initial pickup.

Pickup

This activity includes pickup from hotels, hostels, and apartments in Aswan.

For guests whose accommodations are located on specific islands in Aswan, we will arrange pickups from the following meeting points:

• For those staying on Aswan Island West (Gharb Aswan): pickup will be from the Ferry Terminal in the West Bank.
• For accommodations on Elefantina Island (Guizirit Alfantin): pickups will be arranged from KFC in Kornish Al Nile or from the Egypt Telecom Office on El Sadat Road.
• For guests on Suhil Island (Guizirit Suhil): pickup will occur at the Ferry Terminal in the West Bank.

If your hotel or boat is outside the city center or not located on the listed islands, you will need to proceed to one of the designated meeting points.
