6-Day Tour: Asunción and Jesuit Missions

Day 1: Asunción

Upon your arrival at Asunción airport, our team will be ready to greet you and escort you to your hotel for some relaxation. Later in the day, we will venture out to explore Paraguay's capital. As we wander its streets, you will gain insights into its rich history, from the era of colonization to modern times. Before returning to your lodging, we will visit the bustling Pettirossi market, where the vibrant colors and enticing aromas will captivate your senses.

Day 2: Gold Circuit

After enjoying a hearty breakfast, we'll embark on a journey through the surroundings of the capital, following the renowned Gold Circuit. Our first stops will be the Yaguaron Church and the notable town of Caacupé, a significant pilgrimage destination. Next, we'll head to the picturesque city of San Bernardino, set against the backdrop of the tranquil Lake Ycaparacaí. The day will also include a glimpse into Paraguayan craftsmanship as we conclude our tour in Aregua, recognized for its ceramics and textiles, and Luque, famed for its exquisite filigree metalwork.

Finally, we’ll return to Asunción for dinner and an opportunity to unwind.

Day 3: Jesuit Missions

Awake to a delightful breakfast before we embark southward towards the remarkable Jesuit Missions. Our initial destination is San Ignacio, established in 1609 for the evangelization of the Guarani. As we walk through the remnants of this ancient settlement, you'll discover the operational aspects of these communities and how the Jesuits made their mark here.

After exploring this historic site, we'll continue to Encarnación, where we will spend a restful night along the banks of the stunning Paraná River.

Day 4: Jesuit Missions

The adventure continues with a deeper exploration into the history of the Jesuit Missions. Following breakfast, we will visit seven more evangelical villages established in Paraguay, now recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. You will uncover the reasons behind this designation and visit one of the last established missions: The Holy Trinity of the Paraná, where we will learn about the fate of these settlements in the latter part of the 18th century.

After our immersion in the past, we will explore a Yerba Mate Factory and conclude our day in the lovely city of Ciudad del Este, where you can enjoy dinner and rest in your hotel.

Day 5: Itaipú

Following another enjoyable breakfast, we will explore the natural wonders of Paraguay, starting with the breathtaking Saltos del Monday Municipal Park, which encompasses 7 hectares of verdant beauty!

Marvel at the three spectacular waterfalls, each cascading down 40 meters (131 feet) high—a true celebration of nature! You'll have the chance to replenish your energy with a delicious traditional lunch at the viewpoint restaurant.

Our next stop is the impressive Itaipu Hydroelectric Dam, the second largest globally. We will have the opportunity to walk around this monumental infrastructure and, if you wish, engage in some shopping in the vicinity.

As the day concludes, we will return to Asunción for your final night in Paraguay.

Day 6: Asunción

After breakfast, it's time to gather your belongings as we will take you to the airport, allowing enough time for your flight preparations. This marks the end of our 6-day tour and a heartfelt farewell.
