The adventure begins as we pick you up from your hotel in downtown Asunción at 8 am, ready to explore the authentic heritage of Paraguay while traversing the impressive Golden Circuit.

Your exploration will kick off with an insight into Paraguay's Christian heritage. In San Lorenzo, visit the Jesuit baroque church before heading to Yaguarón, where the stunning church of San Buenaventura awaits. Its beautifully intricate interior starkly contrasts with its simple exterior. A highlight of our journey will be the visit to Caacupé, often referred to as the spiritual capital of the nation and a focal point for pilgrims.

Next, we will visit the intriguing city of San Bernardino, known for its rich German roots. Currently, it serves as a popular summer getaway by the stunning Ypacaraí Lake, which also features an excellent spa for rejuvenation. You will have leisure time to further discover this delightful area before embarking on an enjoyable 25-minute boat ride across the lake.

Our midday stop will feature a delightful buffet dinner. Once satisfied, we will delve deeper into the world of traditional Paraguayan handicrafts.

Our journey continues to Itauguá to learn about the art of ñandutí, a traditional lacework. Following this, we will stop in Areguá, home to the largest artisan market in Paraguay, where you can hunt for unique souvenirs. Our final destination will be Luque, famous for its exquisite gold and silver filigree jewelry. After a brief exploration of its charming streets, you'll have free time to indulge in shopping.

Upon concluding the Gold Circuit, we will return to the capital and drop you off at your hotel in Asunción by 6 pm.

Historic Gold Circuit

We’ll commence our morning in Sapucai, where the old train station and colonial homes reveal the area's heritage, also known as the cemetery of trains.

Next, we will proceed to Yaguarón to view its renowned church of San Buenaventura. Our excursion continues in Pirayú, where we will wander through the historical town, discovering its community, architecture, and local galleries—a true journey back in time!

A stop at Cerro León Camp will provide insight into the history of the War of the Triple Alliance. Our final destination will be in San Bernardino, alongside the picturesque Ypacaraí Lake.

We will conclude our tour upon returning to Asunción at 6 pm.
